Banana Oat Smoothie and Frappuccino Jars idea #4!

I am not much of a smoothie girl, or maybe I am more of a smoothie snob and not many make the cut for me.. either way, the stars aligned this morning and I found a winner!

Banana Oat Smoothie

It all started last night when I froze dollups of Vanilla yogurt in a mini muffin pan like this:

I threw the Quick oats in first and gave them a quick blend to break them up a little because chunky and smoothies and me are not a good combination!

(proportions are a little sketchy.. maybe 3/4 of a cup? and that makes it pretty nutty and rich tasting which I love so.. whatever you like)

Then I put in about 1/2 -1 cup of milk, 1 banana cut up, and about a table spoon of honey. (I put the honey on last so it wouldn't instantly gum up the blender blades because my blender is a wimp.)

Then I started it up and began popping in the yogurt cubes until it just looked right.. I ended up using 9 cubes.

It made a comfortable enough for a jar for Manly and me for our breakfast.

Bonus round:  Pop a lid on it and we have the 4th way to recycle those Frappuccino jars!  " Smoothie for on the go breakfasts"  These are the small size but I have big ones too... and the neck is thin enough so you can drink it right from the jar with no mess or pop a straw in it.  I'm a straw girl so pretty much will use a straw for ANYTHING I can... Ranch dressing... yep. jk!  ;-)

So... Any creative ideas for how else to use these jars?   OR favorite smoothie recipes???    Come on... help a sista out...

Recycling Frappuccino Jars Part 3

If you are like me and have an abundance of old cleaned frappuccino jars that you are bound and determined to use... you could always use them for Kombucha... Glass with a sealing top.. I boiled the lids to kill any bacteria as well as soften the seals a little.

Fruits of my Labors

I had a little spurt of Domesticity and having just gotten home had some kitchen things to catch up on... Manly cleaned the kitchen before we left MAY HE BE ETERNALLY BLESSED, so I had a clean kitchen to start with!

I made Chicken and tomato pizza with rosemary for supper and we ate the whole thing... still stuffed...

It was SO good!!

My Kombucha was ready.. probably a little past ready... I diluted it a little and put Pineapple chunks in it.. here is to hoping it turns out yummy!!

Made Bread for our lunches and my Kombucha (don't I sound industrious right now???)  ;-)

The real fruit of my labor....  So much for that clean kitchen!!

I love Saturday's

I love that we sleep till 9:30 or 10:00 AM without thinking twice about it because we are young and can... ;-)
I love that we get to run errands together with the windows down and the music playing because it was SO gorgeous out, and I love that we both had a hankering to drive with the windows down and music on, because that makes it better. ;-)

I love that I got to not only chat with my dear mother but with my favorite Aunties too!  (What are the odds...) ;-)

I love that Manly is a hard worker and has diligently worked on ripping the threaded nails out of pallets for a garden box.
I love Habitat for Humanity's restore that had shelves of nice good wood for $1 each and saved him from having to keep fighting with those pallets.
I love that the pallets will be used now to make many nice coals for grilled dinners ;-)

I love the garden boxes Manly made. Like... LOVE them. I don't think they could be more perfect.. even down to the pole in the back for peas or beans... YUM

I love that we found this old filing cabinet in the dumpster and it works great for storing BBQ items.

I love that my Sour dough starter LIVED and made incredible bread today.. it was SO good...

I love all the people who gave us Ice Cream Makers for our wedding and that they work and we had yummy homemade vanilla Ice Cream after supper and again before bedtime. ;-) Don't judge.

I love that our nearest neighbor and the resident bachelor on our hall came over to our porch and sat and chatted with us for a few hours.
I love that the grass is coming up and the sun was shining.
I love the little fellow out hitting baseballs with his dad for a while in our shared yard.
I love how spring and summer bring out the visiting side of people and I hope we get to spend much more time with our neighbors and getting to know them.

Mostly though, I love time, I love the time we have been given and I just marvel at His goodness to us.  So so blessed are we...

Easter Sunday

Every year my dad holds a sunrise service on Easter Sunday.  We all drag ourselves out of bed to watch the sun rise and reflect on the incredible sacrifice made for us. It's a beautiful tradition...

Manly and I drove down Saturday afternoon, had a lovely evening with my Sister and Brother in Law and Nephew and stayed the night with them.  Thus the abundance of pictures of the neph... ;-)

The ride in was also gorgeous.. 6:45 AM is pretty lovely...

 It was pretty cold...

We snuggled a lot...

And huddled for warmth.. (for those who don't like the word "snuggle" )

And we were all a little tired.. and I cannot look at this picture without YAWNING!!

I LOVE this little family... they are pretty cute...

Little Nephew Baby chatted his way through the whole service...

Did I mention that it was chilly out... ;-)

Ahhh... but it was worth every second...

When did she get so pretty...oh and have a child.. when did that happen too??

Little miss got a lamb for her birthday

Ah, one of the kindest, dearest and best young men I know... just a little proud of him.

I love her... she loves her lamb.. I see so much of myself in her, for better or for worse our hearts beat to a similar drum...

He wouldn't put it on his shoulders... I told him it wouldn't pee... its like he knew better...

Best picture EVER... the lamb likes to have its head scratched.. like... REEEALLY likes it...

The neph is not as crazy about all the kissing as his Aunties are..

.

The little people LOVE playing "piggy banks" on Auntie's iPad...

 She's gorgeous... and I like her a lot.. =)

That moment when you realize that within 5 years 5 of you will have gotten married, and had 3 children, oh ya.. he is responsible for 2 of them... time flies and somehow... it just keeps getting better...

Look at that sleeping baby face.. PERFECTION!!

Oh just us girls chattering away in the kitchen making some stinkin AWESOME food!  No big deal...

After 2 HUGE meals and such an early morning, the afternoon ended about the same way for everyone...
