5 week pictures

I figured I really ought to take some more professional pictures of baby girl before she got too big...

She looks much like her Auntie Leah in this one, I think.

 Your eyes are like Coconuts!!!

 Sleepy sleepy.....

 Keepin it real....

 Her signature, thoughtful/worried look...

This is a totally different look that I have to have seen before but its cute!!!

 Little FAT hands...

She has the most perfect feet

...

Her lashes are starting to come in and I think... *fingers crossed* that maybe she is getting her Auntie Sarah's lashes with the most beautiful little curl to them!

Both.. because I just cant get enough of that face!!

The first 6 weeks

The first few weeks were a blur and I don't have really any "good", as in not phone, pictures of baby girl but the last few weeks I have been taking some pictures of her though so I will share a small mish-mash of them and then some from her 5 week photoshoot in the next post.  =)

One of the best things about a newborn is the phases of discovery...  Learning who she is and little things about her..

For example we discovered that she has curly hair and that the side of her head looks JUST liker her Grandpa Dale's with the little curls!!

We also discovered that she likes to watch thunder storms just as much as we do!!

We weren't the only one discovering things..
Baby girl discovered her reflection in the swing mirror up there.. she was very impressed!

I love her little sleeping face...

She has very pretty little nails. but very sharp, do not be fooled!!

She discovered another comfy way to sleep... ;-)

Our Baby

So, we had a baby.    It was 5 weeks ago but we did it!    Still cant believe that happened.

I had a smooth 18 hr labor, which surprised me considering it was my first!    I won't bore you with the needless details but I thought I would share a few pictures.

This was after we got to the birthing center and was at about hour 15 of labor...

I love this picture... literally one of the most incredible moments of my life.  I don't think anything can prepare you for how this moment when you get to hold that child, that you grew and birthed, for the first time.  My eyes fill up every time I think about it.

She was a little purple when she first came out which concerned me because she only let out one cry and then was quiet and looking all around, but they assured me that she was just fine.. just not upset!

Big wide eyes... squishy little face!!

She settled right down on my chest and sucked her thumb ... cutest thing ever!

So there she was, Our little precious darling!  She was born at 9:04 and we went home with no complications at midnight.   God is SO good to us!
