Manly and I went to a second hand furniture shop the other day in search of a dresser for him since he will be moving into his apartment soon to batch it for a little bit before the wedding. I didn't have an extra one (Do girls EVER have extra clothes storage space???) so we went looking for one. I fell in love with this one at first sight, its so Manly and just... looked like something he would own.
The doors open to reveal three more drawers and I didn't take a picture but inside the drawers is the most charming black and brown Revolutionary war themed paper.... its a detail we both loved!
They were asking $150 for it but would take $120, which neither of us were wild about paying so.. we kept looking
We found this SUPER comfy chair which they wanted $30 for... still a little high IMHO, but not bad...
That's about when I happened across the nightstand that actually went with the dresser we liked! They only wanted $20 for that so we decided to cut her a deal and offer $150 for all three pieces, much to my surprise she took it!!
We went to the Thrift world next door and I saw them... 6 matching dining room chairs with the seats that you can remove with 4 easy screws and recover ANY TIME YOU LIKE!!! All with a gorgeous back detail pattern, all for $24... wait ONLY $24 FOR ALL 6 CHAIRS????? Yep.. that was an amazing blessing, we got them and tada, new kitchen chairs! I am going to recover them in something blue to match the table legs =)

Food Glorious Food!!!
So, I don't cook very often.. and I know that is a terrible thing for a young bride to be to say and makes all grooms in waiting wince in anticipation of the whole smoke alarm kitchen timer and ramen for the whole first year....and a half... ;-) BUT!! I have done a fair bit of cooking in my day and mostly my lack of cooking now is due to being too tired and lazy.. hello 9-5 jobs... ;-)
Now, all that was to feed (ha!) into the fact that I had a bout of random inspiration and energy the other evening and made something awesome that I wanted to share.. share the recipe that is, not the food, we ate it all, and then looked guiltily at the sister/roommate who came rummaging around for food as we licked the last off our chops...awkward.
So, it started like this, I used Rehoboth Ranch leg and thigh quarters, rubbed them in olive oil and seasoning salt, basil and garlic salt and put them in a lightly oiled roaster pan.
I then cut a bell pepper and an onion in quarters, rubbed some olive oil on them and put them in the pan as well.
I sprinkled about a cup of rice all around in the bottom of the pan with the chicken and veggies, and put about a half inch of water in the whole pan, and sprinkled a can of green beans on top!
Poped it in the oven for 45 minutes at 375 and bam... dinner... it was AWESOME!! When I do this again I may put the rice in first, because not all of it was in the water and cooked but Manly and I liked the crunchy-ness that they added and.. I was just beside myself that rice actually COOKED INSIDE one of the peppers!!!
Here's some pictures for your salivation... ;-)
See the uncooked little ricelets there on the chicken... mmmmmmmmmm!!!!
